Superstars™

"Superstars™" is a NetEnt slot from 2022, and it's the studio's spin on celebrity culture and the TV talent-show circuit. This Superstars slot review covers the free-play demo, so there's no real money on the line here. NetEnt made its name on slick presentation and simple rules, and this one sticks to that playbook. The pitch? A game show stuffed with famous faces. You spin five reels, chase a wheel, and hope the final round pays big. High volatility, a 96.08% published RTP, and a 4500x max win are the headline numbers. It's a solid pick if you want something quick and loud without a steep learning curve.

Superstars™ theme, look and mechanics

The theme leans hard into celebrity culture. NetEnt's art team fills the reels with characters who look like famous faces, and the whole thing plays like a TV talent show. Bright lights, stage backdrops, a host-style vibe. It's loud on purpose.

Mechanically, Superstars runs on five reels with 45 ways to win. That's fewer lines than a lot of modern slots, and it changes how you think about the grid. You're not chasing 243 or 1,024 ways here. You're working with a tighter set, which makes each spin feel more deliberate. NetEnt keeps the base game clean so the bonus features can carry the weight.

The features are where this game separates itself. There's a Wheel Game, a Final Game, and a bonus feature built around a character called Finn. You'll also see references to extra spins, an extra life, and extra dice. Those extras stack into the bonus round, and they're the reason the game has any real bite. Base game spins are mostly about survival, not profit. You're grinding toward the wheel. Once you're there, the Final Game decides how much you actually walk away with.

If you've played NetEnt slots before, the rhythm will feel familiar. Clean spins, fast animations, no clutter. New players might find the 45-ways setup a little unusual at first. Give it a few minutes and it clicks. For a deeper look at how these numbers affect your play, see our guide to slot RTP and volatility explained.

RTP, volatility and what to expect

The published RTP is 96.08%. That's above the 96% mark most players treat as the baseline, and it's a genuine point in the game's favour. RTP is a long-run figure, not a promise for your session. Over millions of spins, the game returns about 96 pence for every pound staked. Your next 100 spins could go either way.

Volatility is high. Expect long dry spells and occasional big hits. You'll sit through plenty of dead spins before the wheel shows up. When it does, the Final Game can swing hard. The max win is 4500x your stake. On a 20p spin, that's £900. On a £1 spin, it's £4,500. Those numbers only land in the bonus round, so the base game won't get you there.

High volatility suits players with patience and a bankroll that can take a beating. If you want steady small wins, this isn't the slot for you. If you like the idea of a rare, punchy payout, it fits. Set a loss limit before you start. High-volatility games punish players who chase.

Playing the Superstars™ free demo

The demo is the smartest way to try this game. No signup, no deposit, no real money. You load it and spin. That's it. NetEnt demos usually run the exact same maths as the real-money version, so what you see is what you'd get.

Give it 10 to 15 minutes. That's enough to see the base game, hit the wheel a couple of times, and get a feel for the pace. Don't judge it after 5 spins. High-volatility slots need at least 20 to 30 spins before you can say anything useful about them. Even then, you're sampling, not measuring.

Watch how often the bonus triggers. Note how the extra spins, extra life, and extra dice change the Final Game. Those are the moments that matter. If the base game bores you, the bonus won't save it. If you enjoy the build-up, you'll enjoy the payoff.

When you're ready to play for real, check how we rate games and casinos before you pick a site. UK players should stick to operators with a UKGC licence, GBP deposits, and GamStop support. Those tools exist for a reason. Use them.

Should you play Superstars™?

Yes, if you like high-volatility NetEnt slots and you don't mind a slower base game. The 96.08% RTP is solid, the 4500x max win gives you something to chase, and the wheel-and-final-game structure keeps the bonus round interesting. The celebrity theme won't appeal to everyone, but it's done well.

Skip it if you want frequent small wins or a low-volatility grind. Skip it if 45 ways feels too limited. Skip it if you've already burned out on NetEnt's bonus-wheel formula, because this is that formula again.

For a free look, browse the free casino games section and load the demo. Play 20 to 30 spins. If the wheel hooks you, move on to a licensed site. If not, you've lost nothing.

18+ only. Play responsibly. Demo play uses no real money.
