Reel Rush 2™

Reel Rush 2™ is a NetEnt online slot from 2019, and it's the follow-up to one of the studio's quirkiest releases. Played the first one? You'll recognise the setup straight away. Candy-coloured blocks sit on the grid and vanish as you land wins, opening more room for symbols. Bright, arcade-like, a bit chaotic. This Reel Rush 2 slot review covers how the demo plays, what the numbers say, and whether it's worth your time before you ever think about spending a penny.

NetEnt has a habit of building slots around one strong idea and pushing it hard. Here, that idea is the expanding grid. You start with fewer positions and unlock more as winning combinations clear the blocks. Once everything opens up, the game runs on 3,125 ways to win. That's a big jump from where you begin, and the growth is the whole hook.

Reel Rush 2™ theme, look and mechanics

The look is pure candy arcade. Bright blocks, chunky fruit-style symbols, a soundtrack that leans into the retro game vibe. NetEnt doesn't do subtle here, and it doesn't try to. The grid starts partly covered, and each win strips away a layer of blocks. Clear enough of them and you reach the full layout with all 3,125 ways active.

That mechanic is what separates it from a standard payline slot. You're not just chasing symbols. You're chasing grid expansion, because more open positions mean more ways to land a win. While the blocks are still in place, the base game can feel slow. Stick with it and the pace changes fast.

Symbols include the usual fruit shapes plus higher-paying character pieces. Random wilds can drop in during play, and a spins meter fills as you go. Fill it and you trigger free spins, where the grid stays open and the action runs hotter. Super free spins sit above the standard round for players who push the meter further.

The original built a cult following for exactly this reason. The sequel adds layers on top, including extra free spins and a gamble-style element around the bonus. We tested the demo across a few sessions and the grid opening up is still the best part. Watching blocks disappear never gets old.

RTP, volatility and what to expect

The published RTP is 96.58%, which sits comfortably above the 96% mark most players use as a benchmark. Volatility is high. That combination matters. A high-volatility slot pays less often but can pay bigger when it lands, and the RTP tells you the long-run return if you played millions of spins. Neither number predicts your next session.

High volatility means you'll hit dry spells. On the demo we went stretches without a meaningful win, then caught a run that changed the whole screen. If you don't enjoy that swing, this isn't your game. If you do, the free spins round is where the real potential sits.

NetEnt hasn't published a max win figure we can confirm, so we won't quote one. Anyone throwing out a specific multiplier without a source is guessing. What we can say is that the bonus round carries the weight, and the base game is mostly about building toward it. Playing the Reel Rush 2™ free demo

The demo runs in your browser with no signup and no deposit. You get virtual credits, you spin, and nothing touches your bank. That's the point. It's the cheapest way to learn how the grid expands and how often the spins meter actually fills.

Give it 10 to 15 minutes minimum. Twenty to thirty spins tells you almost nothing on a high-volatility slot. You need enough time to see the blocks clear, trigger a bonus, and get a feel for the rhythm. We'd suggest a full session before you judge it.

A few honest pointers. Watch the spins meter, not just your balance. The meter is your real progress bar. Don't chase the bonus with bigger virtual bets, because the demo teaches you nothing about real outcomes that way. And if you do move to real play later, set a limit first. Our responsible gambling tools page covers the basics.

Should you play Reel Rush 2™?

Yes, if you like slots with a clear gimmick and you've got the patience for high volatility. The expanding grid is genuinely fun, the 96.58% RTP is fair, and the free spins round rewards sticking around. NetEnt fans will get the most out of it.

Skip it if you want steady, frequent small wins. High volatility will frustrate you here. Skip it too if you found the original too slow, because the early base game still drags.

For UK players, the usual rules apply. You must be 18 or over. Real-money play needs a UKGC-licensed operator, and you should check that before depositing. Look for GBP deposits and withdrawals, GamStop registration, and proper safer-gambling tools. None of that applies to the demo, which is free and risk-free. If you're comparing options, our best online casinos page and how we rate games and casinos breakdown show what we check. You can also browse more free casino games if you want to test others first.

It's 2026, and Reel Rush 2 still holds up as a solid pick for players who like a bit of chaos.

18+ only. Play responsibly. Demo play uses no real money.
