Queen of Riches

Queen of Riches is a six-reel Big Time Gaming slot where any spin can turn a whole reel wild. One of the studio's early Megaways titles, it still plays like a cleaner, faster version of what came later. Regal imagery carries the theme: crowns, gems, a queen's portrait. No cutscenes. No quests. Just spinning reels and the chance of a screen full of wilds. We tested the free demo to see whether the old formula still holds up in 2026.

Queen of Riches theme, look and mechanics

The look is straightforward. Symbols sit on a deep blue backdrop, and the queen's face does the heavy lifting as the top payer. Big Time Gaming built its name on the Megaways engine, and this slot is one of the earliest examples of it. You get 6 reels with up to 117,649 ways to win, which is the maximum the engine allows. Expanding reels? Not in the base game. Reel heights are fixed, so the ways count stays constant.

What sets this one apart is the cloned reels. On any spin, two or more reels can land identical symbols. That's the hook. When a wild lands on one cloned reel, it lands on all of them. Get a full stack of wilds across three or four reels and the screen can pay out in ways that feel out of proportion to your stake.

There's no free spins round. Unusual for a Megaways slot, and you'll want to know it before you start. The whole game is built around the base spin and the clone mechanic. If you're used to bonus-triggered features, this will feel stripped back. We found that refreshing. It won't suit everyone.

RTP, volatility and what to expect

The published RTP is 96.9%. Above average for an online slot, and it's the number to check before you commit real money anywhere. Our slot RTP and volatility explained guide breaks down what that figure actually means over thousands of spins.

Volatility is high. The max win is listed at 50,000 times your stake, which is a big number even by modern standards. In practice, that means long dry spells broken by rare, large hits. You can spin 100 times and see very little. Then a cloned wild arrangement lands and your balance jumps. We'd call it a session game, not a grind game.

That 117,649 ways figure is the theoretical maximum. Not every spin uses all of them. The clone mechanic drives the big wins, not the ways count on its own. Compare it with other Big Time Gaming slots and the RTP sits comfortably in the same range. Nothing here's hidden. What you see on the paytable is what you get.

Playing the Queen of Riches free demo

The demo runs in your browser with no signup and no deposit. You get a virtual balance, and every spin uses fake credits. That's the whole point. You can learn the clone mechanic without risking a penny. Give it 10 to 15 minutes and at least 20 to 30 spins before you judge it. High volatility means a short session can mislead you either way.

Watch the cloned reels on each spin. That's the game's character showing through. See two reels mirror each other and a wild land, and you'll understand the appeal fast. Don't see it in 30 spins? That's normal. It's a rare event.

The demo is also the right place to test stake sizes. You can't do that with real money without consequences. Use the free version to find a spin cost that matches your budget. Should you play Queen of Riches?

Yes, if you like high-volatility slots and you don't need a free spins round to stay interested. The clone mechanic is genuinely different, and the 96.9% RTP is fair. A 50,000x max win gives you something to chase. It suits players who understand variance and can sit through a quiet session.

Skip it if you want frequent small wins or a bonus feature to break up the base game. There's no free spins trigger here, and the dry spells are real. Players who prefer steady, low-volatility play will find this frustrating.

For UK players, the demo is the safe starting point. Real-money play needs a UKGC-licensed site, GBP deposits and withdrawals, and tools like GamStop and deposit limits. Those aren't optional extras. They're the baseline. Check our responsible gambling tools before you deposit anywhere. Queen of Riches is a solid, honest slot from a studio that knows the engine inside out. It's not for everyone, but it does exactly what it says.

18+ only. Play responsibly. Demo play uses no real money.
