Pyramid: Quest for Immortality™

Pyramid: Quest for Immortality™ is a NetEnt online slot from 2015, and this Pyramid: Quest for Immortality slot review covers the free-play demo only, so no real money changes hands while you test it. The theme is ancient Egypt. Tombs, hieroglyphs, golden relics. NetEnt built its name on exactly this kind of polished, mid-weight slot, and this one sits comfortably in that catalogue. You get 5 reels and 720 ways to win, which is more generous than the old fixed-payline games most players grew up with. The published RTP is 96.48%, and the top prize is 1700x your stake. Medium volatility, per our data. That combination tells you most of what you need before you spin once.

Pyramid: Quest for Immortality™ theme, look and mechanics

The look is classic NetEnt Egypt. Sandstone reels, torchlit tombs, and symbols that lean on scarabs, ankhs and pharaoh masks rather than cartoonish art. It's restrained. That's a good thing. The game doesn't shout at you.

Mechanically, this is where it gets interesting. The reels use a 3-4-5-4-3 layout, so the middle reel is tallest and the outer reels are shortest. That shape feeds the 720 ways to win, which pay for matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right. You don't chase paylines here. You chase matching symbols landing in the right positions.

The headline mechanic is the Avalanche feature. Winning symbols disappear, the ones above drop down, and new symbols fall in. If that creates another win, it avalanches again. Each consecutive drop raises a multiplier, so a single spin can chain into something much bigger than the first hit suggested.

Wild symbols appear on the middle three reels. There's no free spins round in this game, which surprises some players who expect one from a NetEnt title. The Avalanche chain is the bonus. That's the trade-off, and it's worth understanding before you judge the slot. If you want to compare how these mechanics stack up against other releases, our guide to free casino games breaks down the main formats.

RTP, volatility and what to expect

The published RTP is 96.48%. That's above the 96% mark most players treat as the baseline, and it's a genuine plus for a 2015 release. Higher RTP means less house edge over the long run, though it says nothing about any single session.

Volatility is medium. Our data confirms it, and one research source lists it as low, so treat it as on the gentler side of medium. In practice that means you'll see regular smaller wins rather than long dead spells followed by one huge hit. The Avalanche multiplier is what pushes the ceiling up.

Max win is 1700x your stake. One ranking page mentions 36,000x, but that figure isn't confirmed by our data or by two or more sources, so we're not stating it as fact. Stick with 1700x.

What does that mean in real terms? A £1 spin has a theoretical top payout of £1,700. Nothing life-changing. It's a steady grinder, not a jackpot hunter. If you want the full picture on how these numbers interact, read our explainer on slot RTP and volatility explained.

Playing the Pyramid: Quest for Immortality™ free demo

The demo loads in your browser with no signup and no deposit. You get a virtual balance, you spin, and nothing is at stake. That's the whole point. It lets you feel the Avalanche rhythm before you commit a penny.

Give it 10 to 15 minutes. That's roughly 20 to 30 spins at a normal pace, which is enough to see a few avalanche chains and get a sense of how often the multipliers actually climb. Don't judge it on five spins. Medium volatility needs a bit of room to show its character.

A few honest pointers from our own testing. Watch the multiplier ladder during a chain, because that's where the value sits. Try a range of bet sizes to see how the balance moves. And remember the demo RTP is the same 96.48% as the real game, so what you see is representative.

One gap worth flagging for UK readers. Our verified facts don't list a licence for this title, so we can't confirm which regulator covers it. Real-money play in the UK requires a UKGC licence, GBP deposits and withdrawals, and tools like GamStop. Check those before you deposit anywhere. Our responsible gambling tools page covers what to look for, and how we rate games and casinos explains our checks.

Should you play Pyramid: Quest for Immortality™?

Play it if you like Egyptian slots and want something calmer than the high-volatility beasts. The Avalanche mechanic keeps every spin moving, the 720 ways give you plenty of chances, and 96.48% RTP is a fair deal. It suits players who enjoy watching a chain build rather than chasing one giant payout.

Skip it if you need free spins to stay interested. This game has none, and that's a real gap for some players. Skip it too if you want a shot at a massive multiplier. At 1700x, the ceiling is modest by 2026 standards.

The demo is the smart first move either way. It costs nothing, it takes a quarter of an hour, and it tells you whether the Avalanche loop clicks for you. NetEnt made a tidy, well-built slot here. It won't thrill everyone, but it does exactly what it sets out to do.
