Possessed

Possessed is a Nolimit City online slot, and we've been spinning it in free-play demo mode to see how it holds up. The studio built its name on dark, high-volatility games, and this one leans into possession and exorcism imagery. It's a 5-reel game with 1,944 ways to win, a published RTP of 96.06%, and a top prize of 50,000x your stake. That's the headline. Below, this Possessed slot review covers how it plays, what the numbers mean, and whether it's worth your time in the demo. No real money changes hands here. It's a free version, so you can test the mechanics before deciding anything.

Possessed theme, look and mechanics

The theme is possession. Expect a dark screen, symbols tied to the supernatural, and a soundtrack that matches. Nolimit City doesn't do bright and cheerful. It does tense. That style runs through the whole game.

Mechanically, Possessed uses xWays and Infectious xWays. Those are the studio's signature tools. xWays symbols expand to reveal extra symbols, which changes the number of ways to win on that spin. Infectious xWays spread the effect to other reels. The base game can shift from 1,944 ways upward when these land. Wilds also appear. There's an xActivation feature that ties into the bonus rounds.

The bonus rounds carry names like Atonement Spins, Beelzebub Spins, and Necromancy Spins. Each one works differently, and the free spins are where the big wins live. Scatter symbols trigger them. There's also a Nolimit Bonus option, which is a buy feature. We didn't test that in the demo, since it's not part of free play.

The paying symbols are split between low-value card icons and higher-value themed ones. The 5-reel layout keeps things readable even when xWays start expanding. On mobile, the game scales fine. We tried it on a phone and the reels stayed clear.

RTP, volatility and what to expect

The published RTP is 96.06%. That's above the 96% mark many players use as a rough benchmark. It means that, over millions of spins, the game returns about 96.06% of all stakes. It says nothing about a single session. You can lose ten spins in a row on a 99% RTP game.

Volatility is high. That matters more than RTP for how a session feels. High volatility means long dry spells and fewer, bigger wins. The max win is 50,000x your stake. So a £1 spin could theoretically pay £50,000. That's the ceiling, not the average.

Nolimit City games are known for this profile. The base game can feel slow. Then a bonus round lands and everything changes. If you don't like waiting, this isn't the game for you. If you do, the upside is real.

We'd point anyone unsure about these terms to our slot RTP and volatility explained guide. It breaks down why a high-volatility slot plays so differently from a low one.

Playing the Possessed free demo

The demo runs in your browser. No signup, no deposit, no card details. You get a balance of virtual credits and spin the reels exactly as you would for real. The math is the same. The RTP and volatility don't change between demo and real play.

Give it 10 to 15 minutes. That's enough for 20 to 30 spins, which is the minimum before you judge a high-volatility slot. Fewer than that and you're guessing. We ran a few hundred spins in our checks. The base game stayed quiet for long stretches, then xWays kicked in and the ways to win jumped.

A few honest pointers. Don't chase the bonus in the demo. It'll come when it comes. Watch how often Infectious xWays triggers, because that's the engine behind the bigger base-game hits. And note which bonus round you land, since Atonement, Beelzebub, and Necromancy Spins don't pay the same.

Should you play Possessed?

Yes, if you like high-volatility slots and you're patient. The 50,000x max win is the draw, and Nolimit City knows how to build toward it. The theme is consistent, the mechanics are interesting, and the 96.06% RTP is fair. Fans of the studio's other dark releases will feel at home.

Skip it if you want frequent small wins. High volatility means your balance can drop fast. That's the trade-off. Also skip it if the possession theme doesn't appeal, because it's everywhere here.

For UK players, the game has been seen under a UKGC licence. That matters. It means the operator running it answers to a regulator with real rules. Deposits and withdrawals in GBP are standard at UK-licensed sites. GamStop and other safer-gambling tools apply too. If you need a break, use them. Our responsible gambling tools page lists what's available.

One thing we can't tell you: the release year isn't listed in our data. We won't guess. Same goes for hit frequency. If a number isn't published, treat it as unknown.
