Fairytale Legends: Mirror Mirror™

Fairytale Legends: Mirror Mirror™ is a NetEnt slot that retells the Snow White story, and you can spin it right here as a free demo with no real money on the line. It's the second game in NetEnt's Fairytale Legends series, after Red Riding Hood. The magic mirror carries the theme, along with the evil queen and a princess who spends most of her time on the reels waiting for something good to land.

Fairytale Legends: Mirror Mirror™ theme, look and mechanics

Storybook is the only word for it. Carved frames, a castle in the background, and a symbol set that splits between low-paying card suits and character pieces like the princess and the queen. If you've played other NetEnt fairy-tale titles, the finish will feel familiar. Nothing looks rushed.

Mechanically, you're looking at a 5-reel slot with 243 ways to win. No fixed paylines. Symbols pay when they land on adjacent reels from the left, which softens the sting of near-misses compared with a 20-line game. The mirror symbol does the heavy lifting. Land it and you can trigger the Mirror Respin, where the mirror expands and covers more of the grid. There's also a mirror feature tied to the free spins round, plus random features that can fire in the base game. NetEnt calls these fairy magic, fairy surprise and magic spin depending on which one lands. Each does something different, and they're the main reason the base game doesn't feel flat between bonus triggers.

The coin win mechanic shows up too, handing you a smaller instant payout instead of a full feature. Nice touch when a session is dragging.

We tested the demo across a few hundred spins. What stood out was how often the random features broke up the dead patches. Some NetEnt slots leave you grinding for the bonus. This one doesn't.

RTP, volatility and what to expect

The published RTP is 96.48%. That's above the 96% mark most players use as a rough benchmark, and it's a genuine point in the game's favour. Over a long run, the house edge sits at roughly 3.5%. Short sessions won't reflect that, of course. RTP is an average across millions of spins, not a promise for your next 100.

Volatility is medium. You'll get a mix of smaller wins and the occasional bigger hit, rather than long barren stretches followed by one huge payout. The max win is 1200x your stake. Modest by modern standards, so if you're chasing a 10,000x monster, this isn't the slot for you. Want steadier pacing with a decent ceiling? It fits.

One thing worth flagging: the sources we checked list volatility as low in places and medium in others. Our data says medium, and that matches how it played for us. If you want the full picture on how these numbers work, our guide to slot RTP and volatility explained breaks it down properly.

Playing the Fairytale Legends: Mirror Mirror™ free demo

The demo runs in your browser. No signup, no card, no deposit. You get a virtual balance, spin the reels, and the maths engine behaves exactly as it does in the real-money version. Same RTP, same features, same volatility. The only difference is that wins don't reach your bank account.

Give it 10 to 15 minutes. That's enough for 100 or so spins at a normal pace. Don't judge the slot on your first 20 or 30 spins, because medium volatility needs a longer sample before the features show up. Watch for the mirror symbol and note how often the random features fire. That tells you more about the feel than any single session result.

Should you play Fairytale Legends: Mirror Mirror™?

Yes, if you like story-driven slots with a fair RTP and features that keep the base game moving. The 96.48% return is genuinely good, the mirror mechanics add something beyond a standard free spins round, and the 243 ways format suits players who dislike rigid paylines. It's a solid pick for casual sessions and for anyone working through NetEnt's back catalogue.

Skip it if you need huge win potential. A 1200x max win won't satisfy players chasing jackpot-style payouts. The theme is also quite gentle, so if you want dark or high-energy slots, look elsewhere. There's no shortage of alternatives on our best online casinos page.
